What are Sporting CP's colors?

Sporting CP, founded in 1906, is a Portuguese football club based in Lisbon. The club plays at the Estádio José Alvalade and is traditionally identified by its Green and White colors, most visibly through the green-and-white horizontal stripes used on its home shirts. Sporting is also known for its youth academy and its long history in Portuguese football.

Sporting CP unveiled a new club identity on July 1, 2026, the date of its 120th anniversary. It was the club’s first major brand identity update in approximately 25 years. The redesigned crest draws heavily from Sporting’s 1945 emblem, bringing older elements of the club’s visual history into a cleaner current design.

The identity is built around five Sporting symbols: the shield, crown, lion, green-and-white stripes and Porta 10-A. The shield and rampant lion remain central to the crest, while the SCP initials form the crown above it. The updated system also carries the club’s traditional stripes into other visual applications.

Green and White remain Sporting CP’s official club colors. The 2026 change updates the crest and wider visual identity rather than replacing the color pairing that has long represented the club.
