What are Middlesbrough's colors?

Middlesbrough Football Club, founded in 1876, is based in Middlesbrough, England. The club is traditionally identified by its Red and White colors and plays its home matches at the Riverside Stadium. Middlesbrough has competed across the top divisions of English football and has retained red and white as the main colors of its club identity.

Middlesbrough introduced a new official club crest ahead of the 2026/27 season, when the club celebrates its 150th anniversary. The crest is a permanent replacement for the shield-shaped badge used since 2007 and is not limited to the anniversary season.

The new design returns Middlesbrough to a circular crest and retains established elements of the club’s identity, including the lion rampant, 1876 founding year and red-and-white color scheme. Its development followed consultation with supporters before the final design was unveiled.

A separate anniversary version of the new crest includes a 150-year signifier inspired by the gates of the club’s former Ayresome Park home. That version is used during the 2026/27 anniversary season, including on the club’s kits, while the main new crest continues as Middlesbrough’s permanent club emblem beyond the anniversary year.
